What is RCEP and Why India is Bothered?

For those reading on regional trade relations, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) would not come as a surprise. For ASEAN, RCEP opens doors to many more opportunities than what exists now. It has the potential to push liberal economic policies and strengthen ASEAN trade connectivity and facilitation schemes.

Therefore, at the 7th ministerial meeting held on September 8, 2019, in Bangkok, an urgency was shown to conclude this trade agreement. But India is quite reluctant.
